The Goshen Local Board of Education honored the following businesses to the 2012 OSBA Business Honor Roll and the Goshen Local Schools Business Partners Awards, showing appreciation for their ongoing support of this community’s public schools:
The program, in its second year, gives Goshen Local Schools a way to say “thanks” to local businesses and recognize them for their valuable contributions to the schools. The Ohio School Board Association provided personalized certificates that were presented during the ceremony.
Collaboration between local public schools and local businesses strengthens schools and the business community alike by providing a well-trained and highly educated workforce.
“Our local business community has always been strong supporters of our schools,” said Sue Steele, Board President. “Whether it is providing a High School student a job or rallying to help support a district cause, our business community is always there to help.”
Darrell Edwards, Superintendent said, “Goshen Local School District and its students, board members, administrators and staff would like to express their sincere appreciation for all that they do for the children of our community. Public schools and local businesses are an integral part of the Goshen community and many local businesses play a crucial role in supporting our schools. These businesses provide mentoring for our students, financial support, fundraising opportunities, support our Senior Citizen efforts and Dinner, and serve on advisory committees.”
