As this year September 11th fell on a
weekend, Goshen Local School District dedicated Friday, September 9th as our day to remember
the event. Even though many of our students were very young when this
tragic event occurred we feel it is important to provide age appropriate
lessons to commemorate the day and remember those that were lost.
Goshen Middle School students shared in one of those lessons at Jim Brown Stadium on Friday. Middle School students were asked to wear a red, white or blue shirt depending on their grade level, so they could construct a human flag on the football field. Mr. Matt Baker, Assistant Principal, covered the importance of September 11th and read a poem that remembered those that were lost 10 year ago. All middle school students and staff joined in a moment of silence and were asked to remember those that were lost and those that serve our country to protect our freedoms. A picture of the human flag is posted below.
