    TEACH GRANT PROGRAM

    The Teach Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to students who intend to teach in a public or private school that serves students from low-income families. Students must agree to teach in areas that have been designated as shortage areas for the 2011-12 school year. Those areas are: Art-Visual and Performing, English/Language Arts, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies-Civics/Government, Economics, Geography, History, Exceptional Children with Disabilities, Speech Pathology and TESOL. Recipients must agree to teach at least four years in the designated field and at a low-income school. For more information go to www.federalstudentaid.ed.gov.

    THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI CLUB OF CLERMONT COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP

    The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Clermont County will award two current High School seniors who will be freshman in the fall of 2011 at the Ohio State University. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline for application is January 15, 2011.

    KFC COLONEL'S SCHOLARS PROGRAM

    The application process for the KFC Colonel's Scholars Program is now open. Students have until February 9 to visit www.kfcscholars.org to apply. To be eligible students must have at least a 2.75 gpa, plan to pursue a bachelors degree next year and demonstrate financial need. Awards can be up to $5,000 per year and can be renewable.

    DISCOVER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
    Any high school JUNIOR who has at least a 2.75 gpa and demonstrates accomplishments in community service and leadership and has faced a significant roadblock or challenge may apply for the Discover Scholarship Program. Up to ten scholarships of $25,000 each will be awarded. Go to www.discoverfinancial.com/community/scholarship.shtml to apply. Application deadline is January 31,2011.

    WALMART FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

    Walmart is offering scholarships for the dependents of employees of Walmart. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Applicants must apply online at www.act.org/walmart/depend/ Application deadline is January 31, 2011.

    The Walton Family Foundation is offering scholarships for the dependents of Walmart employees. Applicants must have achieved an ACT composite score of 22 or a combined SAT score of 1030 and demonstrate financial need. Go to www.act.org/walmart/walton/ to apply.

    The 2011 Sam Walton Community Scholarship is offering $3,000 scholarships for students who are not a dependent of a Walmart employee. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 gpa, have taken the ACT or SAT test and must be a high school senior who will enroll in college for fall 2011 as a freshman. Applications are open until January 31, 2011. Over 2,600 scholarships will be awarded.     SIMON YOUTH FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
    The Simon Youth Foundation offers scholarships to seniors who live in close proximity of a Simon Property Mall (Monroe Prime Outlet Mall) and are planning to enroll in full time undergraduate study at a two or four year college next year. Applications are available in the guidance office. Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades by January 5, 2011.

    ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
    Any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen is eligible. Male and Female students compete separately for identical awards. Applications must be submitted to the Elks Lodge in closest proximity of your address.
    500 Awards for the 2011-12 through 2014-15 academic years will be given out.
    GREATER CINCINNATI AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND
    Scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000 for African-American seniors who have at least a 2.8 GPA and are pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due February 7, 2011.
    U.S. BANK INTERNET SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
    The U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program will award forty $1,000 scholarships to seniors this year. Recipients are chosen by a random drawing process. NO ESSAYS! Online applications are open from October through March, 2011. Go to usbank.com/scholarship to apply.
    ROBERT A. CUNNINGHAM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
    The General Electric Credit Union is offering five $2,000 scholarships in honor of Robert A. Cunningham, a dedicated volunteer for over 30 years. Applicants must have at least a "B" average, demonstrate a record of volunteering and be a primary member of General Electric Credit Union. Students qualify for GECU membership if the live, work, worship, or attend school in Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Clermont, Montgomery and other Southwest Counties.     CINCINNATI CHAPTER OF THE OHIO CREDIT UNION LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP
    The Scholarship Committee of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union invites seniors to apply for one of nine $1,000 scholarships. Applicants must be a primary member of an Ohio Credit Union in Hamilton, Clermont, Brown or Adams County. A primary member simply has a savings or checking acount in the credit union. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline for application is February 11, 2011.

    WAYNESBURG UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA OHIO HONORS SCHOLARSHIP

    If you have a GPA of at least 3.0, live in Ohio and want to major in the sciences or mathematics, you are eligible to compete for the Ohio Honors Scholarship. The scholarship, worth more than $100,000, includes full tuition, room & board for four years at Waynesburg University.
