Hi! Warrior Fans:

I am Lisa Smith. I have taught and Physical Education at Goshen High School for 18 years. I have been the Head Volleyball Coach for 18 years. This year, I will be teaching mainly health and physical education.

I firmly believe that health and physical education are both very important parts of our school curriculum. Students who are active and make healthy choices perform better in the classroom and have a better quality of life. The overall health of our nation can be improved through education.

Beginning in the year 2012-2013, the State of Ohio will include physical education standards on the Ohio Report Card. The plan is still in the works, but the purpose is to have students assessed in physical education components and to use those scores to rate our strengths and weaknesses. This will help us make our curriculum stronger and our students will have a better idea of how they rate in the area of fitness, movement, skills, and coordination. This requirement will only be to the benefit of our students' health. Hopefully, we will see a decrease in health problems and an increase in student achievement.
