Course Overview:
Study skills is a class created to assist students with Individual Education Plans who benefit from a smaller classroom setting. The class is designed to teach educational strategies useful to the students while also assisting with current homework and projects. Study skills is a credit earning class.
Grades:
Grades are earned by participation, timely completion of work, effort, and accuracy of work. Point values are given for all assignments. If a student refuses to complete a study skills assignment, the student will be given a zero for that assignment. Cheating or plagiarizing on any assignment will not be tolerated.

Extended Time Policy:
All students are expected to complete work in timely manner. In some cases, extended time is necessary. The student is expected to inform the general education teacher and their intervention specialist in advance if extended time is needed. Students who have extended time listed on their IEP should refer to individual plans for clarification.
Testing Policy
The resource room (B111) is available to students for taking tests and quizzes. If extended time is needed for a test or quiz, it will be finished in Study Skills.
Homework and Projects:
The student and the intervention specialist shall work together to organize and complete homework assignments. The intervention specialist and the student will check grades on a weekly basis.
