Hello! My name is Erica Thompson. I am a 6th grade intervention specialist for Team Titans here at GMS. I would like to take this opportunity to say hello and welcome you as part of an exciting new chapter in your child's life... Middle School! While the transition can be a bit overwhelming, I am here to assist your child in the obstacles they may face. I hope this can be a journey we all take together.

Before I go any further, let me tell you a little about myself. I have been married seven years and have three beautiful children!
I love to read, scrapbook, and spend time with my family. I also love to travel and go to the theater. I received both my undergraduate degree in Special Education and master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati.

Since I became a parent, this experience has instilled in me the importance of seeking families as partners in the educational process. I feel when parents and families are properly informed and given the necessary training tools and interventions, they themselves can make the biggest impact with their children.

My role as the intervention specialist in your child's classroom is to address any areas of concern they are facing and to encourage them to uphold their responsibilities as students. I am here to make the contents of the curriculum available to all students. As an intervention specialist, I understand that each and every student has a unique learning style and the classroom teachers and I will work together to find fun and creative ways to engage your student. Any feedback you can give us on your child will only help us further their success in the classroom.

I will be working collaboratively with Mr. Bohl and Ms. Dunn in the Math and Language Arts classes and providing support in science and social studies. I am dedicated to the success of your child and will work to bring out the best of their abilities. I am always looking for new and innovative ideas and any feedback you can give me on your child will only further their success.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any concerns you may have. I check my voicemail and email periodically throughout the day and will respond as quickly as I can. Also, I recommend becoming familiar with Progress Book and visiting it frequently!
