    Anchor Activities

    Directions:

    Step 1:
    -Chose ONE topic from the BACK of this page.
    -We will be learning about these topics during 1st quarter.
    -Please choose a topic that you wish to learn more about; don’t take the lazy way out and choose a topic that you already know a lot about.
    YOU NEED TO DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU LEARNED INFO. OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM. (Don’t just copy your notes from our class! Instead, RESEARCH your topic to find more information.)

    Step 2:
    Chose an activity to demonstrate your knowledge about the chosen topic:
    -Poster
    -Game
    -Newspaper Article/Front Page
    -Collage
    -Research Report (2 pages)
    -Detailed (Annotated) Timeline

    Step 3:
    Pick up a rubric from Mrs. Fine that matches your activity.
    -The rubrics will tell you exactly what my expectations are for that particular activity.
    -These activities must look wonderful, and contain as much information as you can find about your chosen topic.

    Step 4:
    Turn in your anchor activity by Wed. Oct. 19th!!!!!!!!
    Attach the rubric to your activity.

    Step 5: (optional)
    Repeat steps 1-4 again and again for extra credit.

    -Citizen Participation (live of every day citizens, role in government)
    -Location of physical and human characteristics

    -Religious practices
    -Cultural practices
    -Cultural and scientific legacies (what still exists today?)
    -Timelin of Ancient Egypt's history

    or
    Ancient China: Choose 1 from the list below

    -Emperors (how they ruled, how they were treated)
    -Citizen Participation (live of every day citizens, role in government)
    -Location of physical and human characteristics
    -Location of historical events
    -Religious practices
    -Slavory/Labor systems
    -Cultural practices
    -Cultural and scientific legacies (what still exists today?)
    -Timelin of Ancient China's history
