Behavior Plan
Our classroom will be on a card system. Each day the students will start with a green card. If they break a rule they will lose a card and a privilege. Every day before they leave school they will color what color they stayed on for that day on a monthly calendar. Occasionally, I will be rewarding those students who stayed on green all week. I will not do this every week so that students do not come to expect it and will hopefully follow the rules every week. Our classroom rules will be put together by our class the first week of school and then I will send them home for everyone to see what our class has come up with.
Card System
First offense - A student will receive a verbal warning.
Second offense – A student will pull their green card and miss 5 minuets of recess.
Third offense – A student will pull their yellow card and miss 10 minuets of recess.
Forth offense – A student will pull their blue card and miss his/her entire recess. And fill out a contract stating the misbehavior and what they should have done. This will be taken home and returned signed the next day.
Fifth/final offense – A student will pull their pink card, miss recess and his/her parents will receive a phone call from student and teacher.
I expect students to follow the rules. I realize that sometimes students just have a bad day and this will be taken into consideration. I hope that all of my students stay on green. But please realize that pulling a green card will not be the end of world. This system will help you and I keep track of any unwanted and repeated behavior.
