Greetings from Our Classroom
A Peek At The Week:
Next week we will review the letters in the alphabet. We are learning the sounds the letters stand for at the beginning of words. We are looking for the letters in the words in books and on our Songs and Rhymes Chart.Help your child write the letters of the alphabet and find a picture that begins with each letter to make an alphabet book.Hunt for pictures in books or magazines.
We will also talk about the kinds of homes people around the world live in.In our book Homes A to Z, we will learn about castles, grass huts, mobile homes, and pueblos.
The book tells about homes made from bricks, grass, or snow. Some homes are old, and some homes are new.But the best home of all is the home where we sleep.
Amazing Words:castle, farm, carpets, row, cave, jungle
Preschool Tips For Parents
Read, Read, Read
Reading is one of the most important ways to promote learning during the summer. Reading can be done anywhere – anytime. Include favorite children’s books or magazines to read together and invite your child to read environmental print that is around you everyday. Environmental print can include the back of a cereal box, a menu, a grocery list, and a recipe. I hope your child’s summer is filled with many wonderful opportunities to learn, play, and relax with the family!
