Dear Parent/Caregiver,
I am delighted that your child is in my class this year! We can all look forward to many exciting and rewarding experiences as the year progresses.
In order to give your child and all the students in my classroom the best learning environment they deserve, I’m utilizing the following discipline plan:
These are our school-wide expectations:
1.Take care of yourself
2.Take care of others
3.Take care of the environment
4.Make good choices
5.Do your best
***If your child chooses to follow the rules (green card) he may earn positive rewards (treasure chest toy, candy, sticker, pencil, etc.), a punch on inventive chart, and good notes home.***
If your child chooses to not follow a classroom rules you can expect the following to happen:
1.Verbal Reminder=Stay on a GREEN card
2.2nd Verbal Reminder=Flip card to YELLOW and lose 5 minutes of recess
3.3rd Verbal Reminder=Flip card to RED, a timeout and lose 15 minutes of recess
4.4th Verbal Reminder=Flip card to BLUE and lose all recess (you will receive a note home if your child is on a blue card.)
5.SEVERE CLAUSE-flip card immediately to blue possible referral to the office. This will be used in case of sever misbehavior such as fighting or stopping our class from functioning.
***Note: This may need to be changed to meet the needs of a particular child. Both the child and the parents will be aware of any changes in this plan.***
