Hi! My name is Tawny Dwyer and I'm the Librarian here at Marr/Cook Elementary. This will begin my 16th. year as an employee of the Goshen Local School District. My husband Kelly and I reside here in Goshen and have three children. Kelsi is employed at Cincinnati Eye Institute. Karli who is a senior at NKU majoring in Early Childhood Education. Kort will be starting his freshman year at NKU majoring in Health Sciences. My children andI are all Goshen High School graduates. In my spare time I love to READ and spend time with my family and dogs. The favorite part of my job is watching the children's faces light up when you read to them. I hope that every child leaves the library with the love of books!
Happy Reading!
Tawny Dwyer

Checking in and out library books: First and Second grade students will begin checking out books Monday August 29, 2011. Students can have one book checked out at a time. All books are due back in one week (7 days) unless we have the day off of school. We will start by checking out fiction books. Students need to choose books that they are able to understand and read. I like to use the five finger rule, for every word on the first page the child does not know they put up a finger. If they have five fingers raised by the end of the first page the book is too hard. Please help your child understand that if they cannot read their book it is not helping them to become a better reader. We have talked about the responsibility of checking out books. Students understand that it is up to them to make good choices with the books they borrow from the library. Students will be charged for lost or damaged books. We do not charge late fees here at Marr/Cook. It is important however to bring their book back so others can have a chance to read them.
