Week of 4/20
NEWS:
READING: This week we read Tippy-Toe Chick, Go! This week, we worked on character, setting, and plot and story structure. Next week, we will read Mole and Baby Bird. In comprehension we will work on sequence and summarize. Our sight words will be: door, should, loved, wood. Please read with your child every night.
WRITING: This week we finished our student created books and worked on commands. Next week we will work on responding to literature.
SPELLING: This week, we worked on the spelling pattern “ow. ” Next week, we will work on vowel diphthong “ou” (see attached list).
MATH: This week continued working on Unit 8. In this unit, we have reviewed coin combinations, making change for a given amount (in cents) and started basic fractions. Next week, we will continue this unit.

INFORMATION:
SNACKS:We could use more whole class snacks of pretzels, crackers, animal crackers, etc.Any donations will be appreciated!
Bowling Party: On April 30th we will have a class bowling party to support the M/C Outdoor Classroom. The cost is $15.00 which covers bowling, shoes, pizza and drinks for two children.
Field Trip:We will be visiting Sunrock Farms on May 14th. The cost for this trip is $14.00 for each student and $14 for each chaperone. Chaperone confirmations will go home on Monday.
Book Order: These were sent home last week and will be due this Monday, April 23rd. I will send that last book order the following week and it will be due early in May to allow for all orders to be fulfilled before the end of May.
