    Welcome to 5th Grade

I STRONGLY encourage students to ask me questions during our math class or during any free time that we might have. I am here to help my students learn to the best of their abilities, and asking questions is a wonderful learning tool students can use at any time.

Let's work together, and this will be the best school year ever!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Can my child bring home his/her math book?Yes! Students have two math journals that they work in each day. They have an Everyday Math journal and a Measuring Up journal. Students may bring home their math journals at any time. Another helpful item students may bring home is their math notebook. We have been working very hard to make this a valuable tool students can use at school or at home. However, it is the student's responsibility to return the math journals and math notebook to school the following day.
Are there any other materials we can use at home to help my child with math homework? Yes! Students may take home a Student Reference Book. This book may be kept at home until the end of the school year. Also, there are MANY fun and educational math games online. At the bottom left of my web page is a link titled MATH. Click on that for several of these sites.
